Covera Health Raises $25 Million for its Healthcare Quality Analytics

Unite Us, a healthcare coordination software company, has announced the acquisition of Carrot Health, a consumer data and predictive analytics platform offering engagement insights to payer and provider customers.

The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Unite Us announced that it had raised over $150 million earlier this year at a $1.6 billion valuation. Unite Us has raised $200 million to date.

The deal merges Carrot Health, which has the nation’s most extensive consumer and health data set, with Unite Us’ software that can coordinate and predict health care needs.

Carrot Health, founded in 2014, has built a consumer data set featuring 500 predictive models on health behaviors and outcomes across 250 million individuals – the most extensive such data set in the country, according to the companies.

Carrot Health uses data points to determine barriers to good health based on social, behavioral, environmental, and economic factors. Unite Us works by developing coordinated-care networks of health and social service providers, allowing providers to send referrals and track users’ health.

“Adding Carrot Health and its outstanding team to amplify our end-to-end solution combines the power of data analytics with our market-leading coordination platform and products,” said Dan Brillman, Co-Founder and CEO of Unite Us.

Dan Brillman added: “With our networks that truly track outcomes and address social factors, we will immediately enable our combined partner base of community-based organizations, governments, payers, and providers to accelerate their impact together, leveraging advanced analytics that improves health for their populations and communities.”

Taylor Justice, Co-Founder, and President of Unite Us, said: “The combination of Unite Us and Carrot Health allows communities to be proactive and have a preventative health solution, so we aren’t always waiting until individuals are in crisis to intervene. Imagine someone being housed before they ever become homeless, so we can create the right environment to focus on their health. That is the model that reinvents service delivery in this country.”

Advisors: Milbank acted as legal advisor for Unite Us. TripleTree acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Carrot Health for this transaction.

One hundred thirty-six digital health companies were acquired in the first half of 2021 compared to 83 in 1H 2020.
