ib vogt Sells 95 MW Solar Project in Spain

ib vogt, a solar and energy storage project developer, announced the sale of the 95.18 MW Baobab solar project in Segovia, Spain, to EOS NER Solar España, a subsidiary of EOS NER, an independent power producer wholly owned by EOS Holding.

The project currently generates approximately 190 GWh of clean electricity annually, which is sufficient to power more than 55,000 residences, while preventing an estimated 19,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. The project is backed by a 15-year PPA.

The project uses bifacial solar panel technology, coupled with single-axis tracking systems, to maximize energy generation. The project holds potential for future hybridization with co-located battery energy storage systems, enabling greater grid resilience and market flexibility whilst unlocking additional value streams.

Andreas Schell, CEO of ib vogt: “We are delighted to announce the successful sale of Baobab Solar. This transaction demonstrates institutional confidence in ib vogt’s renewable energy pipeline and our ability to deliver economically sustainable infrastructure at scale. Baobab Solar exemplifies our integrated approach, combining financial rigour, advanced technology, and operational excellence, to create renewable energy solutions that generate value for investors, communities, and climate objectives simultaneously.”

Baobab Solar forms part of a larger 513.1 MW cluster in Segovia developed by ib vogt, contributing to Spain’s 2050 climate neutrality targets. ib vogt retains operations & maintenance and asset management responsibilities for Baobab Solar.

Herbert Smith Freehills Karmer provided legal counsel to the sell-side, and Garrigues to the buy-side.

In the first nine months of 2025, approximately 29 GW of solar projects were acquired compared to 28.3 GW in 9M 2024, according to Mercom’s 9M and Q3 2025 Solar Funding and M&A report.

In July 2025, the company also announced the sale of the 110 MWp Pato solar project located in Segovia, Spain, to NextPower V ESG, a private solar infrastructure strategy managed by NextEnergy Capital.
