“Energy storage corporate funding increased sharply in the first nine months of 2026, supported by growing electricity demand, the need for greater grid reliability, and expanding applications for battery storage. VC and debt financing rose significantly, while corporate M&A and project acquisitions also increased. Although a few large transactions accounted for much of the funding growth, deal activity increased across the sector. Strong investment in distributed storage and alternative battery technologies reflects growing interest in solutions that can meet different power and storage requirements,” said Raj Prabhu, CEO of Mercom Capital Group.
