Sonnedix, an independent solar power producer, announced the acquisition of a 42 MW ground-mounted solar PV project in Carpio del Tajo, Toledo, Castilla-La Mancha, Spain. The company acquired the project from Impax Asset Management. With this acquisition, Sonnedix’s operational capacity of projects in the market is expected to exceed 1 GW by the end of 2024. The project reached its Commercial Operating Date in October 2023. The project is currently fully operational.

ACWA Power, a developer, owner, and operator of power generation projects, announced the completion of the financial close for the $533 million Tashkent Riverside project in Uzbekistan. The hybrid project includes a 200 MW solar PV project and a 500 MWh battery energy storage system. Six lenders, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Islamic Development Bank, DEG, Proparco, Standard Chartered, and KfW-IPEX Bank, provided the funding.

ENGIE group has signed a loan agreement with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for a 400 MW solar photovoltaic power project in Surendranagar District, Gujarat. ADB was the lead arranger for the loan of ₹14.6 billion (~$175.9 million), with ADB and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank providing ₹7.3 billion (~$87.42 million) each. This is the second project that ADB has financed for ENGIE in India, following the financing of the group’s main project in 2020.

Capital Dynamics, an independent global private asset management firm, announced that its Clean Energy business acquired a 100% equity stake in six solar projects in Spain, which it bought via two deals. The first acquisition represents a 157 MW portfolio comprising three construction-ready solar PV projects in Andalucía, Spain. The second acquisition comprises a 160 MW portfolio comprising three fully consented, construction-ready solar PV projects located in the Aragon province of Spain.

Obton, a solar and energy storage project developer, announced its joint venture with GSSG Solar, a solar-focused renewable energy investment company, and its affiliates to acquire nine solar projects in Japan with a total capacity of 117 MW. Eight of the projects are operational and have a total capacity of 104 MW, while one, with a capacity of 13 MW, is under development. The operational projects were brought into production between 2017 and 2022, respectively.
