Otovo Acquires Solar Service Professionals

Otovo, a home energy service provider, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Solar Service Professionals (SSP), a California-based solar service provider.

SSP provides solar service business with an installed customer base of 38,000 customers since 2017. The acquisition of SSP marks Otovo’s strategic entry into California’s residential solar + storage market.

Otovo plans to convert the existing California base of SSP customers to its subscription service, expecting this initiative to be accretive to net income in 2026.

The transaction is subject to standard closing conditions, including completion of due diligence and no material adverse changes. No regulatory approvals or third-party consents are required for the transaction, and it is scheduled to close in early January.

In December, the company entered into a definitive agreement to acquire select assets of Soly Holding, a Netherlands-based residential solar company that filed for insolvency in November 2025.

According to Mercom’s 9M and Q3 2025 Solar Funding and M&A report, in 9M 2025, 76 solar M&A transactions were executed compared to 62 in 9M 2024.

In September, SunPower, a solar technology, services, and installation company, closed a strategic acquisition of Sunder Energy, a residential solar sales company. The acquisition is expected to boost SunPower’s revenue back to its pre-ITC levels.
