Family-owned U.S.-based manufacturing enterprise MacLean-Fogg has announced its acquisition of OMCO, the parent company of U.S. solar tracker and fixed-tilt racking manufacturer OMCO Solar.
This acquisition strengthens MacLean-Fogg’s position in renewable energy infrastructure, engineered industrial solutions, and precision manufacturing.
OMCO Solar will continue to operate as a distinct platform within MacLean-Fogg, retaining its current leadership structure while gaining access to shared resources in Human Resources, Finance, IT, and Environmental Health & Safety.
The company entered the utility-scale solar photovoltaic market in 2007, providing contract manufacturing and proprietary solar racking and tracker systems. With this acquisition, MacLean-Fogg plans to expand its ability to deliver engineered steel solutions using OMCO Solar’s advanced roll forming capabilities and proprietary solar mounting systems.
“This newly formed synergy is complementary to our already well-established brand name. With so many commonalities, such as strength in culture, customer-focused service approach, and decades of manufacturing experience, to just name a few, continued success is inevitable. Today, we are not just celebrating an acquisition — we are celebrating the union of vision, talent, and momentum. When bold ideas meet strategic opportunity, growth stops being a goal and becomes our new reality,” said Kevin Hopp, OMCO Solar President.
Headquartered in Ohio, the company operates manufacturing facilities across the country, including Ohio, Indiana, Alabama, and Arizona. To date, the company has produced more than 12 GW of factory-direct solar mounting structures for solar projects within the U.S.
According to Mercom’s Annual and Q4 2025 Solar Funding and M&A report, M&A activity was 17% higher YoY in 2025, with 96 corporate M&A transactions compared to 82 in 2024.
In June 2025, ARRAY Technologies, a company that provides solar tracking technology products, software, and services for utility-scale solar energy projects, entered into a definitive agreement to acquire APA Solar, a provider of engineered foundation solutions and fixed-tilt mounting systems for solar projects.
