Encavis, an independent power producer, acquired 26 MW of Chiltern Renewables Hockliffe solar project in the UK from Industria Brand Energy Limited. The solar project in Hockliffe (around 40 miles from London) is scheduled to go online in the first half of 2023.
“We will start construction of the solar park in Hockliffe as soon as possible and sign an attractive Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) once we have acquired a larger portfolio of additional solar parks in the UK,” says Mario Schirru, Chief Investment Officer of Encavis AG. “Until then, we will market the electricity generated in the short term. This means that this project in Hockliffe is initially one of the 5% of sales that have not yet been priced,” Schirru continued.
Encavis also recently acquired 48 MW of three solar projects in the Netherlands from BayWa r.e., a renewable service provider, energy developer, and distributor. The solar projects in Dokkum (generation capacity of 14 MW), Lemsterhoek (31 MW), and Hoogengraven (3 MW) will benefit from the Dutch SDE+ feed-in tariff scheme for the first 15 years. Hoogengraven has been on the grid since June 2020 and Dokkum since July 2022. The grid connection for Lemsterhoek is expected to be finalized shortly.
Earlier this week, Albioma, an independent renewable energy producer, acquired 31.6 MW of solar projects from GreenYellow, a decentralized solar photovoltaic production company in France and Brazil. The portfolio consists of six photovoltaic projects in Brazil and is fully operational. The acquisition of this portfolio marks Albioma’s entry into solar power in Brazil.
According to Mercom’s 1H and Q2 2022 report, 66 large-scale solar projects were acquired in Q2 2022 compared to 82 transactions in Q1 2022.
Sonnedix, an independent power producer, has completed the acquisition of 117.8 MW of portfolio of solar PV projects from Graziella Holding and other minority sellers. The portfolio consists of two solar PV projects: Sonnedix Cagliari, of 69.5 MW, and Sonnedix Nuoro, of 48.3 MW, located in Sardinia, Italy. All projects in the portfolio are in the ready-to-build stage.
