ENCAVIS Acquires 199 MW Solar and Wind Project Portfolio

ENCAVIS, a solar and wind project developer, announced the acquisition of a 199 MW solar and wind project portfolio located approximately 40 km outside Zaragoza, in the Aragon region of Spain, from BayWa r.e., a renewable energy project developer.

The portfolio includes two solar projects totaling 57 MWp and three wind projects with a combined capacity of around 142 MW.

The solar projects, with capacities of 32 MW and 25 MW, are expected to be grid-connected by Q4 2025. While the wind projects, each totaling 47.2 MW, feature eight Nordex N163 turbines per site. These are currently under construction and are scheduled for grid connection between Q4 2025 and Q1 2026.

Once completed, the portfolio is estimated to produce approximately 467 GWh of clean electricity per year.

Mario Schirru, CEO of Encavis AG, adds, “With our first wind project in Spain, we’re not just diversifying our technology portfolio – we’re proving our appetite for growth. This project marks a decisive move forward and clearly shows that we walk the talk: our ambitious plans are now becoming a reality. We are acting fast, and this milestone is another important step in our journey to position Encavis to become the leading pan-European supplier of Renewable Energy. It’s a pleasure to realize this project together with our long-standing partner BayWa r.e.”

Last year, Encavis signed a non-recourse project financing agreement of €60.7 million (~$67.10 million) for its 114.2 MW Lindenhof solar project in Germany. The company’s in-house project finance team structured, arranged, and managed the transaction. In addition, the company has acquired a 62 MW solar project under construction in Dietfurt and Breitenbrunn in Germany from FRONTERIS Energie, which is responsible for its construction.

According to Mercom’s 1H and Q2 2025 Solar Funding and M&A report, approximately 19.9 GW of solar projects were acquired in the first half of 2025, compared to 18.5 GW in the first half of 2024.
