Emeren Group, a solar project developer, announced the sale of a 65 MWp solar project portfolio to Trina Solar International System Business Unit (ISBU), Trina Solar’s downstream project development arm. The company did not disclose the financial details of the acquisition.
The solar portfolio comprises three projects, one of which is in Saarland, western Germany. The second is an agrivoltaic project in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, northern Germany, and the third is an agrivoltaic project in Lower Saxony, northern Germany.
These projects are expected to close in mid-to-late 2025 and have the potential to integrate battery energy storage systems in the future to enhance the operational efficiency of the projects.

In July 2024, Emeren Group announced the sale of a 42 MW ready-to-build solar project portfolio in Spain to CVE España, part of CVE, a French independent power producer (IPP). The portfolio comprises eight greenfield projects with capacities ranging from 5 MW to 6 MW.
According to Mercom’s 9M and Q3 2024 Solar Funding and M&A report, there were 166 project acquisitions totaling 28.3 GW in 9M 2024 compared to the same number of project acquisitions totaling 31.6 GW in 9M 2023.
Recently, AES Chile, a subsidiary of U.S. utility company AES, announced the acquisition of the 171 MWp Atacama solar project from Sonnedix, which develops, builds, and operates renewable energy projects.
