Emerald AI, a developer of software for managing data center electricity consumption and computing workloads, has raised $150 million in an oversubscribed Series A funding round at a $1.05 billion valuation, led by Energize Capital and DCVC.

Investors participating in the round included NVIDIA, Samsung Ventures, Siemens, Aramco Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, GE Vernova, RWE, JERA Ventures, ADVentures, Sabanci Climate Ventures, In-Q-Tel, Radical Ventures, Energy Impact Partners, Lowercarbon Capital, Marunouchi Innovation Partners, Emerson Collective, The Olayan Group, the Temerty Group, John Doerr, Tom Steyer, Earthshot Ventures, Collective Global, and General Catalyst’s scout fund.

Emerald AI’s Conductor software platform manages artificial intelligence computing workloads and on-site energy resources to adjust a data center’s electricity consumption when the grid is under stress while maintaining the performance of critical computing workloads.

The company plans to use the proceeds to expand commercial deployments globally with artificial intelligence companies, data center operators, and electric utilities.

“Emerald AI’s compute workload orchestration platform makes flexibility a permanent feature of how data centers are powered. This turns data centers into grid-responsive assets instead of energy-hogging liabilities—increasing America’s strength in AI, decreasing rises in electrical bills for communities, and protecting the environment. This is deep tech at its best,” said Zachary Bogue, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, DCVC.

According to the company, data centers using its software could connect to the grid faster and at a larger scale while adjusting electricity consumption during periods of grid stress. The company estimates that applying this approach across artificial intelligence infrastructure could make more than 100 GW of capacity available on the existing U.S. power grid.

Over the past year, Emerald AI completed five demonstrations at data centers in Arizona, Illinois, Virginia, Oregon, and London.

In July, Piq Energy, a grid planning software company, raised $5 million in an oversubscribed seed funding round led by Active Impact Investments. Cisco Foundation, Mobilize AI x Energy Ventures, New Climate Ventures, Ascent Energy Ventures, Umami Capital, CLAI Ventures, and 9Zero also participated.

According to Mercom’s 1H and Q2 2026 Smart Grid Funding and M&A report, VC funding for Smart Grid companies in 1H 2026 decreased 35% YoY to $711 million across 34 deals, compared with $1.1 billion raised across 41 deals in 1H 2025.
