Meham Sugar Mills has tendered a 20 MW solar project to be
developed on a build, own, operate and transfer basis. The co-operative sugar
mill will provide 80 acres of land on lease for 25 years to develop the
projects, stated a source at Meham Sugar Mills.
The scope of work will include, construction, commissioning,
and operation and maintenance of the 20 MW project. The bid-submission deadline
is May 7, 2017.
The state government of Haryana proposed the utilization of
unused land owned by Meham Sugar Mills to generate extra revenue by developing
a solar power project, added Mercom’s
source at Meham Sugar Mills. The source further stated that the project will be
developed in a public- private partnership and the power will be sold to
Haryana distribution companies.
