Azure Power has installed the first phase of a 14 MW solar
rooftop allocation for the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The system was
installed at the Sultanpur facility at a tariff of Rs.5.55 (~$0.081)/kWh for 25 years.
The remaining phases will be installed on metro stations and on the tops
of metro coaches owned and operated by DMRC. The DMRC will provide a total
subsidy of Rs.167.4 million (~$2.51 million) to Azure Power for the entire 14

(Electrical), DMRC. It is a step towards achieving the DMRC
target of 50 MW of rooftop solar on flat and curved roofs across metro
stations, train depots and other buildings owned by DMRC.
According to Mercom’s
research, Azure Power has 17.5 MW of rooftop solar in operation and 35 MW under
development and pipeline.
